Measuring Instructions

Filip Wooden Curtain Track System with Decorative Valance measuring guide

Sizing your curtain width

The simplest way to work out the width of the Filip Wooden Curtain Track System with Decorative Valance is to add 25–30 cm to the left and right of your window width, depending on the space available. The recommended margin depends on the fabric: for sheer curtains, make the track 20 cm wider on each side than the window; for drapes, 25 cm on each side; and for heavier fabrics, 30 cm on each side.

When choosing your curtain width for the Filip Wooden Curtain Track System with Decorative Valance, base it on the width of the track, not the window. The track sits wider than the window so the drawn curtain doesn't cover the glass or darken the room during the day and so you have enough space to gather the drapes aside when the window is opened fully.

If you choose to fit the Filip Wooden Curtain Track System with Decorative Valance from wall to wall (along the entire length of the wall), we recommend leaving 3–8 cm of free space at each end especially for tracks whose decorative finials are fixed in place by screwing them on.

Assembly Instructions

Remove the end stops located at the ends of the tracks.
Slide the curtain hooks into both aluminium tracks.
Refit and secure the end stops.
For wall mounting, position the brackets against the curtain rod and secure them with screws.
Mount the curtain rod securely to the wall or ceiling.
Hang the sheer curtain and blackout curtain on the hooks of the appropriate tracks.

Chat on WhatsApp See all questions

How do I measure?

Measure the width of your window and add 25–30 cm on each side, so the curtains can open fully without covering the glass. For a wall-to-wall fit, measure the full distance between the walls. The length you enter already includes the end caps.

When will it arrive?

Every rod is made to order. Production takes about 2 weeks, then we ship it with a tracking number so you can follow it to your door.

What's in the box?

The rod, the mounting brackets, curtain hooks (about one per 10 cm) and the screws needed to assemble the rod. Need more hooks? Just add a note to your order.

Will it hold heavy curtains?

Yes – it holds any curtain without a problem, thanks to solid wood and an integrated aluminium inner track.

My window is very wide – is that a problem?

Not at all. Longer rods come in two pieces with a connector – or, on request, in one piece up to 4 m (extra shipping may apply).

How can I pay?

PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, Visa and Shop Pay. All prices include VAT.
